Disrespectful Track Behavior To Be Fined In MotoGP
All MotoGP riders received an email before Aragon GP could begin. The International Road Racing Teams Association has decided they could fine riders for disrespectful behaviour. Initially, riders could receive a warning and if similar behaviour is noticed monetary fines could be applied.
Misano GP witnessed Valentino Rossi and Aleix Espargaro in an on track exchange. Rossi believed that Espargaro held him back during practice. The Yamaha and Suzuki riders were involved in a heated conversation on the track itself.
Aleix Espargaro refused to accept that he was at fault and was hampering Rossi. Valentino believed otherwise and eventually flipped Espargaro the middle finger. This ended the confrontation, however, now based on this officials have decided to take action.
Riders, however, have a different opinion on this announcement. Cal Crutchlow believes that riders expressing their emotions add spice to the sport. He also believes that as long as no one is getting injured there is no harm if two or more riders are arguing on track.
Previously, riders have been seen kicking and even punching each other while riding. Casey Stoner had once punched Randy de Puniet for slowing him down. Romano Fenati was seen kicking another rider and also switching off his bike in a fit of anger.
