Kashmir Unrest: Tension rises after another civilian dies in Baramullah

The authorities have deployed security forces and maintained restrictions in Srinagar city and some other places. There however will be no curfew anywhere in the Valley as per the police.

On the 78th day of unrest the valley continued to remain shut on Saturday. The tension increased as another young boy was killed in clashes by the security forces last night in Rafiaabad area of Baramullah.

The authorities have deployed security forces and maintained restrictions in Srinagar city and some other places. There however will be no curfew anywhere in the Valley as per the police except Handwara.

A 22-year old youth identified as Waseem Lone of Baramulla district died during firing on Friday. Educational institutions, markets and other businesses have also remained shut.

The Valley has been in crisis for last more than 2 months after the killing of militant commander Burhan wani in an encounter. Eighty-eight civilians have died since the present unrest began on July 9. Thousands of people have been injured
