We’re proud to confirm that as part of our continuing development programme we now have on our journalism staff three graduates of Savitribai Phule Pune University. This is one of the premier universities in India

It is popularly known as the ‘Oxford of the East’.

Savitribai Phule Pune University has more than 300 recognised research institutes and 600 affiliated colleges offering graduate and under-graduate courses.

Our new Deputy Managing Editor Business Farzana Nisha joins our North Editor Shratika Naidu and Parliamentary Reporter Arieta Vakasukawaqa as our graduates from Pune.

All three studied at Pune together.

Mere Satakala and Selita Bolanavanua  are the latest of our graduates from a prominent Indian university to join our team of journalists.

Mere has returned to Fiji with a Bachelor of Arts (Communication and Journalism) from Osmania University College for Women in Hyderabad.

Osmania University is one of the top university systems in India. It has more than 300,000 students at its campuses and colleges. It was founded in 1918 and is regarded as amongst the most prestigious universities in southern India.

It was also a pioneer of university-level journalism education in India.

Selita graduated with a Bachelors of Business Management.

Managing Editor Sports, Leone Cabenatabua, who studied at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication graduated in development journalism.

Managing Editor News Jyoti Pratibha, is an honours graduate from the University of Delhi, one of the most prestigious in India.
