Infopark 2.0 will employ more than 3,000 techies

Kochi: The first multi-storeyed IT block at Kochi Infopark's subsidiary unit at Koratty - which is just 20 minutes away from Cochin airport - is nearing completion. Once the work is over and firms take the space on lease, there will be nearly 3,000 job opportunities for skilled youngsters here. Three companies have already started their operations in the first floor of Indeevaram and are now on the lookout for skilled personnel.

Infopark marketing manager, Arun Rajeevan said that the top floors of the building would be furnished and leased out within a year. "The construction work is over. The furnishing part and converting them into usable office space is in progress. We have received permission to lease out the first floor," said Rajeevan, adding that around 13 companies have applied for office space.
Indeevaram has an office space of over 3.3 lakh sq ft across four floors. The building was completed in a time span of three years and the expenditure was Rs 76 crore. A total of Rs 100 crore is being invested in this project. The availability of jobs will increase as soon as more firms are allotted space following the furnishing of the first floor in January.
The three companies started functioning around May this year and are in the initial stages of establishing their offices. Hence, the companies are looking for a good talent pool in and around the area to hire.
Opentrends, a Spain-based software development company, is looking for engineers and has an employee requirement of over 80 techies. Feathersoft services needs skilled youths for both engineering and communication wings.
Hence, there is a chance not just for engineering graduates but for those with even a graduate degree. The firm's requirement is 60 skilled youngsters.
Meanwhile, Uvionics Tech a Singapore-based firm is more focused on business analytics and offers job opportunities to those from accounting sector. The company has a requirement of 70 staffers.
