PALANPUR: Rajkot range deputy inspector of police (DIG) DN Patel's daughter-in-law lodged a complaint against him and his six family members, accusing them of mental and physical harassment on Thursday.
Hiral Patel lodged the complaint with Vadali police station alleging that her husband Rohit Patel, Mansa's deputy mamlatdar, started tormenting her after she discovered his affair with another woman in 2011.
Hiral, who got married in 2011, according to the 'Sata' tradition, wherein her brother had tied the knot with DIG Patel's niece, alleged that she decided to file a complaint when Rohit married a woman Parul Patel from Khedbrahma without giving her a divorce.

"My father-in-law threatened us of dire consequences if I lodged a police complaint," she said in her complaint.
