LAHORE: The Mujahid Squad and the Police Response Unit (PRU) Force has responded 2785 police emergency 15 calls against street crime, drug dealer, suspect and arrested proclaimed offenders, court absconders as well as other criminals during the last two weeks. The Mujahid Squad and the PRU also checked 10,176 sensitive points including hotels, inns, guesthouses and other areas while they also checked documents of 12,772 vehicles. They also recovered drugs, illegal weapons and registered 17 cases against wheeling and beggars during the same period. This was stated by Mujahid Squad and PRU Force SP Syed Karar Hussain during a meeting to check the performance of the force on Wednesday. The SP directed all police officers to be on high alert and to perform their duties with vigilance and dedication. He said there would be zero tolerance in case of any negligence. Separately, the Anti Vehicles Lifting Staff (AVLS) Wednesday arrested two persons and recovered 11 motorcycles from them. According to details, on the directive of Capital City Police Officer Captain retired Amin Wains, SSP Investigation Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera directed AVLS SP to take effective measures against motorcycle lifter gangs. The SP constituted a special team under the supervision of Anti Vehicle Lifting Staff DSP Aftab Ahmed Phularwan comprising Sub-Inspector Gulzar Ahmad and other police officials. The arrested were identified as Asif Khan alias Assu and Waqas Khan.
