Bohemians moved up to fifth in the table with their second 1-0 win in a row.

This victory over bottom team Longford Town had a similar theme to Monday's win over Wexford Youths.

Top scorer Kurtis Byrne got the only goal of a poor game in the first half in front of 1,158 fans.

The dubious goals panel can debate who actually scored it.

Jake Kelly's cracking delivery is not up for debate however. His dipping cross evaded everyone, including goalkeeper Ryan Coulter, and flew into the net in the 33rd minute.

Byrne claimed a glancing touch with his head during the celebrations. The stadium announcer awarded him the goal, and Byrne was credited with it, but it looked like the free went straight in.

Longford have won just twice all season but will rue this night as a missed opportunity to bridge the gap between themselves and Wexford, which remains at six points with five matches remaining.

Bohs defender Derek Prendergast twice denied Town in the early exchanges, first from Kealan Dillon and then Eddie Dsane.

Kelly missed Bohs' best opportunities, heading over before seeing his goal-bound shot blocked on the line.
