VARANASI: By sending a proposal to their headquarters the
North East Railway (NER) Varanasi division has generated hopes for better train connectivity of Varanasi with the south and north-east states of the country.

Kashyap, on Friday, disclosed, "Two proposal had been sent to the railway headquarters recently. One proposal is to run a train daily from
Manduadih railway station to reach destinations like Chennai, Cochin, Bangalore, Trivandrum and Yashwantpur on separate days of week.
Similar proposal is to operate a train on daily basis from Manduadih to reach major destinations of NE states on separate days. If these proposals are accepted by the railway ministry the direct connectivity of Varanasi with southern cities will improve. This had been a long pending demands not only from the trader fraternity but also the pilgrims, tourists and students of the region.
