Villagers demand probe into change in proposed site of foot bridge

UDHAMPUR, Sept 23: A deputation of villagers of Panchari block called on Additional Deputy Commission (ADC) Udhampur and urged him to order a probe into alleged irregularities and misuse of public fund in construction of foot bridge over Bagga Nallah.
The villagers explained to ADC Angrez Singh Rana that in construction of foot bridge no BG-164, over Baggal Nallah in block Panchari Badhota, funds were siphoned off by the concerned officials of block Panchari by changing location of the bridge.
“The site of bridge has been changed to about 400 meters away from the earlier identified site thus rendering it useless for the villagers while its length is reduced   to 20 feet even as Rs 15 lakh have already been sanctioned for the 42-feet long bridge, “the said and urged the ADC to order immediate stoppage of work besides an inquiry into the matter.
The delegation comprised of Lehar Singh, Sansar Singh, Kartar Singh, Pawan Singh, Yashpal Singh, Dhara Singh, Balbir Singh, Sushil Singh and others.
