Modi, Karuna wish Jayalalithaa speedy recovery

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday, wished chief minister J Jayalalithaa, who has been admitted to Apollo hospital, a speedy recovery.

CHENNAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday, wished chief minister J Jayalalithaa, who has been admitted to Apollo hospital, a speedy recovery. A government release said the PM sent a bouquet of flowers and a letter to the CM that said, "Dear Dr J Jayalalithaaji, wish you a speedy recovery," he said, in his letter.
In response, the release stated, that the 68-year-old CM thanked Modi in a letter.
"I thank you for the concern and good wishes." Several of her political rivals, including DMK chief M Karunanidhi, too tweeted a get-well message. He said there were reports coming in about her health. "Though I may have ideological differences with chief minister Jayalalithaa, I wish her a speedy recovery and wish that she continues her work," he said. I wish her a speedy recovery, said his son and opposition leader M K Stalin.
The newly-appointed TNCC chief S Thirunavukkarasar, Congress national spokesperson Khushbu and a host of other leaders in TN, wished her speedy recovery. "I pray to God for her good health," Thirunavukkarasar, Jayalalithaa's former party colleague said in a statement. DMDK leader Vijayakanth said, "I pray God for TN CM J Jayalalithaa's quick recovery and that she continues to carry out her official duties." Karnataka and Puducherry chief ministers Siddaramaiah and V Narayanasamy extended wishes for Jayalalithaa's speedy recovery. In his official Twitter handle, Siddaramaiah wrote: "I learnt Hon. Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa is unwell and hospitalized. I wish her speedy recovery."
TN governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao sent a bouquet of flowers and letter to the CM, in which he wrote: "It is worrying to learn that you are indisposed and hospitalised due to fever. My best wishes. People's prayers and God's blessings are always with you. I wish you a speedy recovery and pray to God to bring you back in good health enabling you to continue your distinguished service to the people."
The government release said the CM thanked the Governor in a letter. "I thank you for the concern and the kind sentiments that you have expressed in your letter," she wrote. Tamil Maanila Congress chief G K Vasan and MDMK chief Vaiko were among others who also wished her a speedy recovery.
