75 students attend workshop on green composting

DEHRADUN: A workshop on green waste composting was held at Doon Girls’ School today. A team of PRAMUKH, an NGO, imparted practical demonstration at the workshop.

A workshop on green waste composting was held at Doon Girls’ School today. A team of PRAMUKH, an NGO, imparted practical demonstration at the workshop.

Pramukh has now developed an aerobic method of composting from green waste, especially from leaves which were earlier burnt.

A total of 75 students participated in the training programme. After an interactive talk by Promilla Kaul and Paroma Shankar, the students were informed about the tools used for composting. Students of Class VII were asked to practically carry out the procedure.

The samples of the compost produced were presented to the school chairman. Brig KG Behl (retd) presented the vote of thanks. — TNS
