Man held with gold biscuits

Customs officials nabbed a person and seized seven gold biscuits from him at Sri Guru Ram Das International Airport here today. The accused has been identified as Mohit Bhattm, who arrived at the airport today. He was screened and found carrying seven gold biscuits weighing 816.550 gm. Mohit concealed the biscuits under the anklet worn on his right leg below the knee. The officials said that he was passing through the green channel without declaring the biscuits to the Customs. Capt Sanjay Gahlot, Commissioner, Customs, said, “The gold value is around Rs 24,90,470. The accused and his accomplice, who was waiting outside the airport to receive him, have been arrested and the gold has been seized. Further investigation is under progress”. — TNS
