Nizamsagar project, which was empty for the last three years due to drought, received inflows for the first time this year while the water level in SRSP project is also rising fast.

However, the water level in Nagarjunasagar continues to be lower when compared with other projects.

Unless the Srisailam project is full and water released downstream, the chances of any significant increase in water level in at Nagarjunasagar are slim.

Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao said Srisailam may attai full level in the next week if rains continue and water can be released to Nagarjunasagar.
