Residents of Narsi Village, a licensed residential colony in Sectors 32 and 33 developed by True Zone Buildwell Pvt. Ltd., crave for basic facilities, including sanitation, water supply, drainage, streetlights, roads etc.

The colony was handed over to the Municipal Corporation (MC) by the Director-General (DG), Town and Country Planning (TCP), Haryana, on June 8 for its development.

The Municipal Corporation, which has started some development works in the colony, asked the company on August 26 to produce the records of External Development Charges (EDC) and Internal Development Charges (IDC) dues totalling Rs 16.72crore paid by it but to no avail, said Aditya Dahiya, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation.

“We have now approached the Director General, Town and Country Planning, to direct the company to produce the record of External Development Charges/Internal Development Charges dues paid by it. If the company has not paid the dues, it should pay these to facilitate development of the colony,” Aditya Dahiya said.

Sources said the decision to transfer the colony to the Municipal Corporation was taken on the directions of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who assured the residents of resolving their grievances in a ‘khula darbar’ held here on on November 8, 2015.

“The company had failed to provide the residents with essential services like water supply, sewage disposal, electricity connection for water supply and streetlights,” said Harsh Kalra, a member of Residential Welfare Society of Narsi Village. “ External Development Charges and Internal Development Charges were paid to the company at the rate of Rs 840 per sq yard at the time of purchasing plots, ” he added.

While the company’s marketing manager Rajesh Verma refused comment on the issue, its CEO Ashish Jain could not be contacted despite several attempts.
