‘Accidental’ gunshot claims manager’s life

Ashwini Kumar (37), a manager in Lupin Pharmaceutical Company, was killed after being hit by a bullet while going on a bike in the city today.

This bullet was fired accidentally from the gun of a guard of a cash van of Punjab and Sind Bank, who has been taken into custody.

He was taken to hospital but was declared dead by doctors, said Parvesh Gaba, state chairperson of Haryana Medical Representative Association.

Ashwini of Himachal Pradesh was presently living in Ludhiana. He had come to visit local doctors, Gaba said. Ashwini was going with his colleague, Kuldeep Singh, riding the pillion on a bike when a bullet hit him in the head. —TNS
