Man killed in Borivali over Rs 30
MUMBAI: The Borivali police arrested a man for killing his friend over a fight for alcohol worth Rs30 on Thursday. The victim Khanderao Chitnis (50) was found in a pool of blood in a ground in Borivali (West) by few locals who alerted the cops and rushed him to hospital where he was declared dead on admission.
Acting on a tip-off received from the victim’s other few friends, the police team collected information about the accused who was last seen with Chitnis late on Thursday.
Based on the information the police team nabbed the accused who confessed of committing the offence. Assistant commissioner of Police (Borivali division) S Pujari said Chitnis was found in a pool of blood. “Both the accused and the victim are known to each other. On Thursday Chitnis gave Rs30 to the accused to bring alcohol. However the accused consumed the alcohol which led to fight between the two. The accused banged Chitnis head on the ground which led to his death,” said Pujari.
