Toulouse suffered a third straight defeat as they were beaten 25-20 by Lyon in an entertaining game at Matmut Stadium on Saturday.

Lyon took an early lead courtesy of a Napolioni Nalaga try in the eighth minute, and four Fred Michalak penalties saw the hosts leading 19-3 at the break.

The visitors struck back via a Sofiane Guitoune try shortly after the restart, and another from Paul Perez on the hour-mark set up a grandstand finish.

Pau sealed their second victory of the season after they comfortably beat 2015's Top 14 champions Stade Français 23-6 at Stade du Hameau.

The hosts were 10-3 ahead at the break thanks to outside centre Conrad Smith's try and the boot of former All Black team-mate Colin Slade.

A try five minutes after the interval from Steffon Armitage gave them a handsome cushion and from there Slade's boot sealed the win.

Brive bounced back from last week's defeat at Grenoble as they ended La Rochelle's winning run, prevailing 29-28 at Stade Amédée Domenech.

The duo traded penalties during the opening half with Montpellier holding a slender 6-3 lead at half-time.
