Fresh counselling for filling MBBS/BDS seats in pvt colleges begins

INDORE: A day after the supreme court directive to conduct counselling for filling MBBS/BDS course seats afresh, nearly 3900 already registered candidates filled their choice and nearly 350 candidates registered for the first time in the state as the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) initiated the process on Friday.
The online registration process will continue on MP online portal till Saturday midnight for filling nearly 1,397 MBBS and nearly 1200 BDS course seats in private medical colleges of the state.
There are 11 private medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. MBBS seats in each of colleges setting aside 15% non-resident Indian (NRI) quota are about 127.
“We are hopeful to see further registration as the process will continue round the clock,” said medical education department director Dr G S Patel.
Seats in medical/dental colleges will be allotted on September 25 whereas the centralised scrutiny of original documents and admission process of allotted admission will be done at Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal on September 26 and 27. Admission on the seats falling vacant due to any reason will be done from September 28 to 30 at the college.
Details regarding the counselling will be displayed on DME website. “All candidates will have to appear in person for scrutiny and admission process at Gandhi Medical College. Original documents of all those candidates, who were admitted in government medical/dental college and private medical/dental college through nodal government medical/dental college in the first round of the counselling shall be made available there itself,” said Dr Patel.
