15 new dengue cases in Lucknow, tally at 346

LUCKNOW: As many as 15 new cases of dengue were reported by the office of the chief medical officer (CMO) here in Lucknow on Friday. With this the total number of persons affected with dengue has risen to 346 in Lucknow district.
With number of cases rising going up, which is said to continue till Diwali, a public awareness rally for dengue was organised in the city early Friday morning.School children attended the rally that was flagged off by state minister for family, mother and child welfare, Ravidas Mehrotra, from Rifa-e-Aam club upto KD SIngh Babu Stadium.
As per health department officials, the cases are expected to rise with current temperatures between 25 degrees to 35 degrees being apt for mosquitoes to breed and grow. But health department is taking all relevant steps
After a heath awareness camp in several areas of the district on Friday,Dr SNS Yadav, CMO, Lucknow district informed that fogging will be carried out in Lala Lajpat Rai ward, Ismailganj ward, Alamnagar, Om Nagar ward and Ramji Lal Nagar ward on Saturday by the anti-malaria unit.
