Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Final Edition Officially Dead; Two Food Banks To Receive Auction Money
Dheeraj RThe ultimate Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Final Edition of total 1600 manufactured cars was recently sold via an online auction event for a whopping amount of $76,400, which is touted to be double its MSRP of $37,995. Reports claimed that the last Mitsubishi Evo was painted white in color.
Auto Week reported that the proceeds from the very last Mitsubishi Evo will be received by two food banks which are Feeding America Riverside or San Bernardino and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. These charity organizations are stated to be aimed at combating hunger needs in the society.
According to reports, the sports sedan included a black aluminum roof-top with chrome-finished alloy wheels and a center bumper. The Mitsubishi Evo also had computerized monitors onboard in order to help the customers with split-second adjustments. It also consisted of Active Yaw Control (AYC) functionality, which was meant to provide the desired accurate traction just by varying engine torque between the left and right back wheels.
The sports car also featured a Stay in Touch 140-watt audio system audio with a 6.1-inch touchscreen display. In terms of performance specs, the Mitsubishi Evo was powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 engine with a 303 horsepower and a five-speed manual transmission Evo GSR. Also, the high-performance sports car featured a BREMBO braking system, Bilstein suspensions and Eibach springs around each corner.
Despite all the Lancer Evo Final Edition models have been sold out, there are rumors that Mitsubishi might launch few new models from the same series but with a twist. It is stated that the next-gen Evo might be a hybrid crossover from Mitsubishi's electric Pikes Peak race car and the Evo X's Super All Wheel Control system. However, the company has remained silent and has not commented anything about their future endeavors.
Keep posted for any updates or rumors about the probable new sedan from Mitsubishi Lancer Evo series.
