Caedmon Fisher had eight goals for the Mustangs in the nonleague upset win Thursday at Costa Mesa High.

Crespi is ranked No. 5 in CIF Southern Section Division 3, while Costa Mesa is unranked.

Tony Shin had two goals and three assists for Costa Mesa, while Jake Fleener, Augie Cunningham, Jacob Petersen and Nick Ly had one goal each. Goalie Tristan Trepas had 10 saves and five steals for Costa Mesa (4-1).

The Mustangs play at rival Estancia in the Battle for the Bell game Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.

Shaya Northrup and Roxy MacKenzie each swept in singles for the Sea Kings in Thursday’s Pacific Coast League opener at home.

Camellia Edalat and Brooke Kenerson swept in doubles for CdM (7-0, 1-0 in league).

The Sailors did not lose a set in doubles in the Sunset League opener at Newport Harbor on Thursday.

Taryn Anderson and Eva Newsom swept at No. 1 doubles. Megan Carey and Ally Harano swept at No. 2 doubles. Lauren Lipkowski and Amra Barton swept at No. 3 doubles for the Sailors (5-4, 1-0 in league)

Claire Covina had 15 kills to help the Sailors to a 25-19, 25-14, 25-19 sweep in a Sunset League opener at NHHS on Thursday.

Jasmine Amori added 13 kills and Callie Govaars nine kills, and Alyssa Sukow had 36 assists and four digs for Newport Harbor (3-6, 1-0 in league).

IRVINE — Alexa Bonanno had 34 assists, eight kills, 15 digs and 5 aces to help lead the Sea Kings to a 22-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-11 win to open Pacific Coast League play on Thursday.

Ashley Humphreys (17 kills, 19 assists, 12 digs), Christina Davenport (15 kills), Blair Hodges (six kills, two blocks), Raleigh Garner (12 digs) and Tia Grippo (13 digs) also contributed to the win for CdM (5-5, 1-0 in league).

Celine Niu shot seven-over-par 42 to earn medalist homnors for the Sea Kings in a Pacific Coast League match at Newport Beach Country Club on Thursday.

Gabby Finear (44), Gia Finear (45), Malia Halafuka (46) and Sydney Scharf (50) also scored for CdM (5-2, 3-2 in league).

Bella Rosete shot two-over-par 37 for Estancia in the Orange Coast League match at Mile Square Golf Course on Thursday.

Kendal Machado and Mollie Crook each had a goal and an assist to lead the host Sailors in the Sunset League game Thursday at Huntington Beach High.

Georgia Yokoyama and Mckenzie Porteous added goals for the Sailors.
