AURANGABAD: The Cidco police have arrested Gunasagar Jagtap of Radhaswami Colony, Jatwada for allegedly attempting to kill a 26-year-old woman in the Jatwada area following a petty quarrel. He tried to hit the woman with an axe, but eventually hurt her mother who tried to intervene.
Police said that the woman was cleaning the entrance of her residence on Wednesday evening when Jagtap, an acquaintance, reached there and picked up a quarrel saying that he would teach her a lesson for being a bad character.
The woman objected, leading to heated arguments. Her mother tried to pacify the man but he continued to abuse and tried to hit the woman with an axe which he had brought with him.
However, the woman's mother intervened at that instant, receiving the blow, meant for her daughter, on her hand. Following the hue and cry, the woman's other relatives too rushed to the spot. Jagtap allegedly showered abuses on her relatives as well while threatening them with dire consequences.
