NASHIK: The busy roads leading from Tapovan to Golf Club grounds through Ravivar Karanja will be out of bounds on Saturday as thousands are expected to join the first Maratha rally in the city.
A spate of silent rallies has been organised over the past few weeks in different parts of the state to mobilise support for the demand of the Marathas to make changes in the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and provide reservation to the community.

The first rally in Nashik, which is expected to draw support from parts of north Maharashtra, will begin at 11am on Saturday at Tapovan. Lakhs of members from the Maratha community will join the silent march from Tapovan and proceed through Swami Narayan Chowk, Santosh T Point, Katya Maruti Chowk, Nimani Bus Stand, Panchavati Karanja, Raviwar Karanja, Sangli Bank Signal, Meher Signal, CBS and reach the Golf Club Grounds.
It is expected to cover the approximately 5-km route to Golf Club grounds by 2pm. The city police have identified parking areas for people arriving from different regions into the city, announced traffic diversions to be effective from 7am on Saturday.
Senior police officials said protestors coming from Peth, Harsul, Girnare, Makhmalabad can park their vehicles at the Sharadchandra Pawar Market Committee opposite the Regional Transport Office and walk towards Tapovan. Vehicles coming from Dindori and Kalwan can be parked at the market committee along Dindori Road and in front of Mahalaxmi Theatre and MERI. Further, vehicles from Malegaon, Baglan, Devla, Chandwad, Pimpalgaon, Ozar, will have to park their vehicles at Nilgari Baug.

Those coming from Yeola, Nandgaon, Lasalgaon, Niphad, Chandori, Saikheda will have to park their vehicles near Jejurkar Mala. Protestors coming from Igatpuri, Ghoti and Mumbai will enter the city at Dwarka and drive till Panchavati College. There, they can take right turn, drive along Athvan Lawns and reach Chavan Mala to park their vehicles.
Vehicles from Trimbakeshwar will take right from Papaya Nursery and reach Garvare T Point via Ambad Link Road. They can take the highway from the ramp near Lokmat and enter the city at Dwarka from the flyover drive. They can go till Panchavati College, take right, drive along Athvan Lawns and reach Chavan Mala. Swami Narayan Chowk, Santosh T Point, near Nimani Bus Stand, Panchavati Karanja, Raviwar Karanja, CBS, Tilakwadi, Tidke Colony to Mumbai-Agra highway, Mumbai Naka Taxi Stand and Sarda Circle will be no vehicle zone.
Traffic diversion on account of Morcha
Motorists from Aurangabad side, who are not part of the protest march and are moving towards Mumbai or Pune will use the Nandur Naka-Jail Road-Bytco Stretch and move towards the Pune side while those moving towards Mumbai will take left from Samrat Corner and reach Pathardi Phata via DGP Nagar, Wadala, Rajiv Nagar, to take the Mumbai road. Similarly those moving towards Dhule from Aurangabad will take the Nandur Naka - Jatra hotel route to move towards Dhule.
Motorists from Dhule and moving towards Pune or Mumbai will take left from Jatra hotel, reach Nandur Naka and take the Jail Road to reach Bytco and then move towards Pune. Those moving towards Mumbai will take right from Bytco drive till Samrat Corner and then reach Pathardi Phata via DGP Nagar, Wadala, Rajiv Nagar, to take the road to Mumbai.
Vehicles from Dindori side and moving towards Aurangabad, Pune or Mumbai will have to take left from the RTO corner, reach Rasbihari and take the Dhule side road and those moving towards Aurangabad, Pune and Mumbai will proceed to Nanduri Naka via Jatra hotel and move towards Aurangabad, while those moving towards Mumbai or Pune will have to take the given diversions from Bytco point.
Heavy vehicles from the Peth side and moving towards Dhule, Aurangabad and Pune side will reach Rasbihari from Rau hotel and Mhasrool and RTO corner and proceed towards Dhule, Aurangabad and Pune, while those moving towards Mumbai will take right from Sharad Pawar market yard junction, travel through Dream Castle, Chopda Lawns, Gangapur Naka signal, Jehan Circle and take left from Bardan Phata and take the road to Garware point from Ambad T point and move towards Mumbai.
Heavy vehicles from Gangapur Road side moving towards Mumbai will also use the Ambad T Point, Garware point road to proceed towards Mumbai while heavy vehicles moving towards Dhule, Aurangabad, Pune will use the Gangapur Naka, Chopda Lawns, Dream Castle Signal stretch to reach Sharadchandra Market junction via Makhmalabad road and then move towards RTO Corner, Rasbihari school and Jatra hotel to take the Dhule, Aurangabad or Pune road.
Motorists from Trimbakeshwar and moving towards Aurangabad, Dhule will use the Ambad T Point road to reach Garware point to move elsewhere and those moving towards Pune will use the Pathardi Phata, Wadner Gagte, Vihitgaon, Bytco junction to move towards Pune.
Vehicles from Mumbai side and moving towards Dhule will make use of the flyover while those moving towards Pune will take the Pathardi Phat, Wadner Gate, Bytco junction to move towards Pune.
Meanwhile, residents of Adgaon and Panchavati will take a right from Amrutdham junction and reach Tarwalanagar from where they will proceed through Sharadchandra Market, Makhmalabad T Point, drive through Dream Castle, Chopda Lawns, Gangapur Naka to move towards the place they want while those moving towards Nashik Road from Adgaon, Panchavati will take the Nandur Naka, Jail Road, Bytco route.
Motorists from Ambad, Indiranagar, will move towards Sainath Nagar, Jogging Track and City Centre Mall and move elsewhere.
The police said that no vehicle will be allowed to park on the route of the protest march. The restrictions will be applicable from 7 am till the end of the morcha.
