ALLAHABAD: As many as 1.17 lakh names, including 48,000 ghost voters and 20,462 duplicate voters were deleted from the electoral list.
Currently, there are as many as 43.99 lakh voters, including 24.30 lakh males and 16.69 lakh females in 12 assembly constituencies of Allahabad, including Bara, Karchana, Meja, Koraon, Soraon, Phaphamau, Pratappur , Handia, Phulpur, City North, City South and City West.

While reviewing the district electoral list, election officers found out that the strength of women voters was far less than their male counterparts in all the nine rural-based assembly constituencies, including Bara, Karchana, Meja, Handia, Pratappur, Phaphamau, Koraon, Soraon and Phulpur.
Talking to TOI, chief development officer ( CDO, Allahabad), Andra Vamsi said, "Registration of women voters in rural-based constituencies has been very less. For the purpose, special registration camps for women are being organized at tehsil level, from September 20 to October 15. A s many as 4,327 booth level officers (BLOs) have been assigned duties for the same"
He added that the strength of women voters in all three urban-based assembly segments, including Allahabad North, Allahabad South and Allahabad, was approximately equivalent to their male counterparts.
The Allahabad district has a population of 65 lakh, including 34.4 lakh males and 31 lakh females, and electoral ratio to total population of district is 67%, at present
The electoral population ratio was highest reported from City South assembly seat (80%), followed by Karchana (72 %), Allahabad West (71%) and Allahabad North (70%).
