BHOPAL: In an effort to strengthen the working of e-Mandis in Madhya Pradesh and help farmers get maximum benefit of the same, the government would facilitate software in Hindi language for easy use.
Emphasising the use of e-platform in a meeting with Union agriculture minister Radhamohan Singh in New Delhi, chief minister
Shivraj Singh Chouhan said a portal based on agriculture will be facilitated so that farmers could be sensitised about agriculture related information on their smart phones.
Chouhan also urged the Union minister to release a sum of Rs 56 crore for soil testing laboratories for soil health management.
To double farmers' income in the next five years, the Madhya Pradesh government has also decided to connect 19 new mandis to the
National Agriculture Market Scheme (NAMS) from September 30. Besides, the government will also provide smart card to the farmers from November 1. "We want to link all mandis to
NAMS as 20 mandis have been included in the Centre's scheme, which is already implemented in
Karond Mandi of Bhopal," tweeted
Chouhan on Thursday.
The chief minister said as the arrival of kharif crop has begun, the government wants to provide farmers a national platform to sell their produce and take maximum financial benefit.
