RAJKOT: An Ahmedabad-based jeweller and his friend were looted of valuables worth Rs7.8 lakh at gun point by four robbers when they were travelling in their car from Anjar to Adipur town in Kutch district on Wednesday late night.
The robbers hit the duo with wooden bats and fled with their mobile phone and car.
According to police, Rajesh Shah (40) and his friend Shailesh were on a trip to different towns of Kutch particularly in Gandhidham, Anjar and Adipur.

On Wednesday late evening, when the duo was heading towards Adipur from Anjar, their car was intercepted by the four robbers on the Anjar-Adipur highway. The robbers, who had come in a sedan car, pointed a gun at Rajesh and Shailesh and thrashed them with wooden bats. They snatched their mobile phones and fled away with their car.
Adipur police said that valuables worth Rs 7.8 lakh, which included two mobile phones and a car, were looted by the robbers. A manhunt has been launched to track down the robbers, who are yet to be identified.
Police said that the robbers have been booked for assault, robbery and criminal conspiracy.
