AirAsia India starts flying from Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: AirAsia India on Thursday commenced operations from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Hyderabad, with a daily flight each to Bengaluru and Goa.

From October 8, the airline will also connect Hyderabad to Kochi with its two daily flights and add two more daily flights to Bengaluru, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd announced here on Thursday.

With the addition of AirAsia India, the Hyderabad airport is now served by nine domestic carriers connecting 33 domestic destinations; while15 foreign and four Indian carriers are connecting the city with 19 international destinations, a release said.

Another AirAsia group company, AirAsia Berhad of Malaysia is already operating flights from Hyderabad to Kuala Lumpur. GHIAL CEO S.G.K. Kishore said that with commencement of the airline’s operations out of RGIA, travellers will have more flight options.
