Narcotics smuggling racket busted, 4 arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, Sept 22: Miran Sahib police busted narcotics smuggling racket by arresting four persons from Simbal Camp area along with poppy straw (bhukki).
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Miran Sahib police station accompanied by Naib Tehsildar conducted raid in a house at Simbal Camp and arrested four narcotic smugglers.
The accused have been identified as Pardeep Singh alias Deepu, son of Rajinder Singh, a resident of Simbal Camp, Rajinder Singh alias Raju, son of Jaswant Singh, a resident of Tali Morh, Miran Sahib, Mohammad Bashir, son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani, a resident of District Anantnag, Srinagar and Manga Ram, son of Ram Lal, a resident of Pallanwala, tehsil Akhnoor. Police team recovered 2.5 kilograms poppy straw (bhukki) from the house.
One of the arrested narcotic smugglers namely Mohammad Bashir had brought the consignment from Srinagar to sale it among the youths here with the help of his associates, but Miran Sahib police foiled his bid.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Miran Sahib police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib Pawan Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
