American Amelia Lewis shot a four-under-par 68 to take a one-stroke lead after the first round of Ladies European Tour event in Marbella.
The 25-year-old carded five birdies in breezy conditions at the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espana Femenino to top the leader board ahead of English pair Florentyna Parker and Rosie Davies.
Davies enjoyed a bogey-free round of 69 while Parker compensated for three dropped shots with six birdies.
Another English player, Sophie Walker, was in a three-way tie for fourth on two under, her challenge undermined by a double-bogey six at the 12th. Angel Yin of the United States and France's Gwladys Nocera were the other players to shoot 70s.
