New Delhi: A man with a bandaged head was caught by a policeman in Karkardooma courts on Thursday for feigning that he was injured after cops thrashed him.
Police said Raj Kumar was roaming around the premises, trying to meet a judge to complain that he was beaten up by cops and that his condition was deteriorating.
Kumar is a proclaimed offender and had been absconding since Monday after stabbing a friend.
A case was registered at Mandawali police station in east Delhi and his picture circulated across districts.
While he was trying to make his way to the judge’s room, a policemen from Vivek Vihar police station, who had come to court for some work, identified him and started interrogating him. Kumar couldn’t give any satisfactory reply to the cop’s questions. When the policeman asked him to open his bandage to show how hurt he was, he first refused and then tried to run away. However, he was caught and his bandage opened.
It was found that he didn’t have any injury at all. He had wrapped the bandage to pretend that he was hurt so as to move the judge to take back the charges against him on compassionate grounds.
