Mercury and Sun in Spotlight for September 22 Red Letter Trading Day

It’s big news when Mercury turn direct and the Sun moves into Libra all on the same day–a “Gann Day” to boot.

Two big astrological factors come into play for Thursday, September 22. First, communicator Mercury turns direct in motion at 1:31 am, ending three weeks of retrograde motion that provides communication and travel challenges.

Second, it is the fall equinox, when the Sun moves into the sign of Libra, at 10:21 am. As it is one of the four season changes each year, this day was tagged as an important one for potential change in trend by legendary trader W.D. Gann. The Sun in Libra is in its “fall” (no pun intended), its weakest sign. Thus, it is easier for other planets to outshine the Sun (also no pun intended) during this next 30 days.

Thursday’s reports include:

  • 8:30 am US Jobless Claims

  • 10:00 am US Existing Home Sales
