Digger used to ram Tewkesbury supermarket cash machine

Thieves used a digger to ram raid and remove a cash machine from a supermarket wall stealing "tens of thousands of pounds", said police.

The ATM at the Co-operative store on Northway Lane in Tewkesbury was targeted at about 03:45 BST and then placed into a 4x4 vehicle.

Police said the offenders, wearing balaclavas, were then seen driving off towards the Grange area.

They said the shop was "substantially damaged" and remains closed.

Gloucestershire Constabulary has asked anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.
