Suspensyon nina Espino, Villafuerte di pa naipatutupad
Wala pang aksyon ang Kamara de Representantes sa suspension order na ipinalabas ng Sandiganbayan laban kina Pangasinan Rep. Amado Espino at Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte.
Sa dalawang sulat na ipinadala ng Kamara de Representantes sa Sandiganbayan Sixth Division, sinabi nito na natanggap na nila ang suspension order na ipinalabas nito kaugnay ng kinakaharap nilang kasong katiwalian.
Ipinaliwanag ng Office of the Speaker na ipinadala nito ang suspension order sa House committee on rules alinsunod sa kanilang alituntunin.
“Pursuant to the nature of the House of Representatives as a collegial body and in accordance with the provisions of the House Rules provisionally adopted on 25 July 2016 to govern the proceedings of the 17th Congress, the Speaker transmitted the Resolution of the Honorable Sandiganbayan… to the Committee on Rules.”
Maraming suspension order na ipinalabas ang korte laban sa mga kongresista subalit kalimitan na hindi ito naipatutupad.
Sinuspendi ng korte si Espino ng 90 araw kaugnay ng kinakaharap nitong graft case dahil sa maanomalya umanong black sand mining sa Lingayen Gulf noong siya ang gubernador ng lalawigan.
Si Villafuerte ay pinatawan din ng 90 araw na suspensyon dahil sa maanomalya umanong pagbili ng produktong petrolyo sa Naga Fuel Express Zone na hindi dumaan sa public bidding.
Ayon sa graft law, ang mga opisyal ng gobyerno na nasa puwesto pa ay dapat na suspendihin kapag napatunayan ng korte na mayroong probable cause upang hindi nila maimpluwesyahan ang kaso.
