Daimler unit renamed Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East

DUBAI, September 22, 2016

Daimler Middle East & Levant FZE (DMEL), the regional head office for Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars, will be now known as Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East FZE (MBCME).

The new name will more accurately reflect its business operations in the region, following Daimler’s decision in Q3 to separate the passenger and commercial vehicles business units.
Daimler Commercial Vehicles Middle East & North Africa (DCV MENA) was established in September 2015 as part of its increasingly dedicated customer-focused strategy.

"The new name not only reflects our business operation more accurately, but will also eliminate any potential confusion for customers and suppliers. Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East FZE (MBCME) will focus exclusively on the passenger cars business, and is an important and logical step that clarifies our operation in the region, and our continued mission to deliver the best possible experience for customers and partners," said Mark de Haes, president and CEO of MBCME.

The greater Middle East region will be serviced by the new operation, including the Levant countries, the GCC, Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, and Yemen.

Other departments within the organisation such as Daimler Financial Services Middle East, Label Program, Regional Training Centre and Regional Logistics Centre will remain under MBCME without any changes.

The regional office for Mercedes-Benz was established in 1998 and is located in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai. Both new entities continue to be headquartered in same location.  - TradeArabia News Service
