Rekha, Kangana the new BFFs in Bollywood!

It's a relationship which blossomed in 2014 when Kangana Ranaut was flooded with praise for her performance in Vikas Bahl's 'Queen'. One of the many compliments she received for her feisty portrayal as a bride-to-be dumped on the eve of her wedding takes off on her honeymoon alone was from the diva herself. Yes, Rekha was as wowed as the rest of the industry and the audience by this unconventional Queen.
The following year, Kangana was adjudged the queen amongst actresses by the Filmfare jury but she wasn't at the show to accept her trophy in person. It was a pleasant surprise for the organisers when Rekha agreed to drop it off at her Khar apartment.

At 3 am, the doorbell rang and an overwhelmed Kangana found Rekha standing at her doorstep cradling her black lady which she handed over to her. The unforgettable moment marked the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
According to a source close to both actresses, Rekha is really fond of Kangana and thinks of her as her ward. Besides a black kanjivaram sari, she's also gifted the younger girl a silver Ganesha idol. Also, the yesteryear legend has a fondness for mogras and when the flowers are in season, she has sent tokris of them to Kangana through her manager Farzana. Rekha and Farzana have also visited Kangana and her sister Rangoli a few times.
"She likes Kangana's candour and finds her completely without pretence while Kangana respects Rekhaji immensely," adds the source.
And though the world appreciated Kangana in 'Queen' and the two 'Tanu Weds Manu' films, the sequel bagging her her fourth Filmfare trophy this January, Rekha's favourite Kangana film is the crime drama 'Revolver Rani'.
