The Macuata rugby team have shifted their camp to Viti Levu to prepare for their HFC Bank Farebrother Trophy Challenge against Nadroga on Saturday.

Macuata Rugby Union secretary Ropate Rakadi told SUNsports that from their training camp in Viti Levu they are intending to be in Sigatoka today.

“We are looking forward to a good outing against the defending champions,” Rakadi said.

“Our team is made-up of local players who are looking forward to this new experience of playing against the country’s top rugby team.

“We are different from all other teams that have challenged the Farebrother as we don’t have former national rugby players.

“We have great respect for Nadroga as they helped us in developing rugby in the North.

“The challenge against Nadroga would be a good start and an opportune time for our players to showcase their talents.

“We’ve done our training and are ready to play Nadroga.

“We also call on Macuata supporters residing in the Western division to come out in our traditional white and red colours to back the team,” Rakadi added.

“Morale support would be highly appreciated as the team would be away from home and supporters.

“We haven’t chosen the final squad and who is going to be our captain.

“This will all be done on Thursday.”
