Now, listen to stories of Old City in Om Puri's voice

Lucknow: When you look at the breath-taking view of 'Purana Lucknow' from the heights of Satkhanda, it will be actor Om Puri's voice that will be your audio tour guide. At the time of entry, visitors will be given headphones and a device. A placard displaying a number will be displayed at every window of Satkhanda. Dialling that number on the device, visitors will be able to hear the story of the monument visible from that window, said designer Siddharth Bathla, who is involved in the project.
"The plan is to get the audio tour guide recorded in the voice of Om Puri. The beauty of the Husainabad narrated in his powerful voice will take one back to the Nawabi era," said LDA vice-chairman Anup Kumar Yadav. The Clock Tower, Rumi Darwaza, Chhota Imambara and Bara Imambara are some of the monuments visible from Satkhanda.
Its architectural splendour will be highlighted with help of projection mapping, which will be used to highlight historical events related to the monument in 3D. "The duration of projection mapping will be 15 minutes," said Bathla. Satkhanda would be lit up with LED lights highlighting all the four stories. "Five touch-screen kiosks will be placed to display documentaries on the monuments," said architect Sourabh Gupta.
