The famed ‘woods’ of Madras Christian College, contained within it, a plethora of talented students, who eagerly displayed their prowess during the Oppo Chennai Times Fresh Face 2016, held in the college on Tuesday.
TALENT GALORE: Held on a rain-drenched Tuesday morning at a clearing between the trees of MCC, the auditions, in which over 70 students participated, saw them put up a show like none other.
While some crooned popular film songs others displayed their dancing prowess. The students not only impressed the crowd that had gathered to cheer them on, but also the celebrity judge for the event, Kollywood actor Harish Uthaman.
OFF THE BEATEN TRACK: That apart, some students chose to be different from the crowd, as they displayed their acting skills. There was even a stand-up comedy act, and a girl whose talent was whistling!
WINNERS TAKE CENTRE STAGE: The winner among the girls was Cindy Haekip, who wowed everyone with her two-minute dance performance. Both first runner-up Megha Abraham and second runner-up Saira Mathew, sang for the audience, impressing them with their melodious voices. Among the boys, it was Neil Cornelius, whose singing impressed the judge the most. While first runner-up Akash Sajikumar sang the melodious title track of Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, second runner-up Pasupathi S, enthralled everyone with his dance moves, which were a mix of styles.
