Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have parted ways. Once again.
Following news Tuesday that the show-business super-couple is on the express train to Splitsville, Madame Tussauds wax museum decided to separate its wax figures of Pitt and Jolie.
“Following the news that has shocked celebrity watchers worldwide, we can confirm we have separated Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s figures,” the museum tweeted, along with a picture of the figures, now with an unidentified wax man placed between them.
Too soon, Madame Tussauds, too soon — though, if you really wanted to get cheeky about it, you would have put a wax figure of Marion Cotillard between Pitt and Jolie.
Jolie, who had been with Pitt since 2004 and has been married to him for two years, listed their official date of separation as Sept. 15, 2016, in court papers obtained by TheWrap. The papers were filed by lawyer Laura Wasser in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday, and they cite “irreconcilable differences.”
Jolie is requesting sole physical custody of the couples’ six children, offering Pitt visitation rights and joint legal custody. Pitt officially adopted three of Jolie’s children, while Jolie gave birth to three more children of their own over the course of their relationship.
“I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well being of our kids,” Pitt said in a statement to People. “I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”
