Tuesday night in Camden Yards, the Red Sox beat the Orioles (BOS 5, BAL 2) for their sixth straight win, which stretched their lead in the AL East to four games with 11 to play. The O's sit in the second wild card spot with a slim 1 1/2 games lead over the Tigers.

The highlight of Tuesday's game for the Orioles was rookie Trey Mancini hitting his first MLB home run in his first big league game. It was a fifth inning solo shot against Eduardo Rodriguez. Mancini's mother Beth was in the stands and she absolutely lost it when Trey went deep. Here's the homer and here's her interview:

That's awesome. Watching a kid realize his dream and get to the big leagues is pretty cool. Watching him go deep with his parents in the stands? That's the best. There an awful lot that goes into getting a kid to the show. There's no doubt Mancini's mother worked hard to help him get where he is today.

Mancini, 24, hit .282/.357/.458 with 20 home runs in 142 games split between Double-A and Triple-A in 2016. MLB.com ranks him as the fifth best prospect in Baltimore's system and says "(with) his potential to hit for average and power, Mancini has the makings of a prototypical first baseman."
