Israel warns citizens against travelling to Egypt, Turkey

September 21, 2016 at 4:50 pm

Israel issued travel warnings advising its citizens against travel to 34 countries including Egypt and turkey, Israel Hayom news website reported yesterday.

The anti-terror department in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office strongly warned against travel to Turkey and certain parts of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt during the upcoming Jewish holidays.

According to the news site, travellers were told to be cautious when they visit heavily populated areas abroad, tourism centres, stadiums, cultural sites, markets, leisure places, hotels and airports, as well as to pay attention when they use public transportation.

The department claimed that terror attacks carried out by Islamists increase during Jewish holidays and Israeli and Jewish sites become targets.
