Tata Motors Delivers 10 Midi Buses To Bilaspur

Tata Motors has delivered 10 new fully integrated air-conditioned midi buses for Bilaspur city. It was flagged off by the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Raman Singh. The order for these buses was placed under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) scheme.

Tata Motors has total orders for 178 buses from 5 cities in Chhattisgarh. They will also deliver a total of 42 new Midi buses to the city of Raipur, Korba, and Durg-Bhilai. The midi buses are 9 meters long and have a ground clearance of 900mm.

The buses are being built at the Tata Marcopolo Motors Ltd. (TMML) facility in Dharwad. The new BS III bus is equipped with Intelligent Transport System (ITS) and On Board Intelligent Transport System (OBITS) framework, as per the UBS II norms, meeting global safety standards. The safety system is also advanced as the buses are also fitted with the latest detection and fire suppression systems.

For better commuter safety, better passenger comfort and connectivity, the midi buses are also equipped with:

1. Passenger Information System (LED destination boards)
2. Automatic vehicle location system
3. Security camera network system (CCTV)
4. On-board vehicle health monitoring and diagnostics
5. Single controller unit
