Janatha Garage worldwide box office collection: Jr NTR's film turns second movie, after Sarrainodu, to gross Rs 125 cr in 2016

Koratala Siva's Janatha Garage has surpassed the Rs 125 crore mark at the worldwide box office in 18 days. The Junior NTR-starrer has become the second Telugu film to achieve this in 2016, after Sarrainodu.

Janatha Garage collected Rs 102.35 crore gross at the worldwide box office in its opening week and became the fastest Rs 100 crore-grossing Telugu movie of the year. After witnessing over 80 percent decline in its business after that, the Junior NTR and Mohanlal-starrer collected approximately Rs 18.35 crore at the global box office in its second week, taking its 15-day gross total to Rs 120.70.

The Koratala Siva-directed action drama clashed with some small budget movies at the box office, which slowed down its collection further in its third week. When compared to its second weekend business, it showed over 50 percent drop in the third weekend. Janatha Garage grossed approximately Rs 5.25 crore at the worldwide box office in its third weekend, and its 18-day global gross total has reached Rs 125.95 crore.

Allu Arjun's Sarrainodu collected Rs 127.60 crore at the global box office in its lifetime and is the highest-grossing Telugu film of 2016. Janatha Garage has landed at the second place in the list of highest-grossing Tollywood movies of the year. The movie needs Rs 1.65 crore to surpass the benchmark set by Sarrainodu, and the film is expected to earn the amount on the weekdays and beat its record in three weeks.

Janatha Garage has earned Rs 77.56 crore for its global distributors in 18 days. The movie has already become the highest-earning Telugu film of the year, beating the record of Sarrainodu, which earned Rs 76 crore for its worldwide distributors. The movie has become the third all-time highest-earning Telugu film, beating the records of Magadheera and Attarintiki Daredi.
