Kamal Haasan in Oppam's Tamil remake?

Priyadarshan's Mohanlal-starrer Oppam has been rated as one of the duo's better films in the last decade and several stars from other industries too have taken note. Earlier there were reports that both Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth had seen the film and lauded the director for the movie.
Recent rumours hint that Kamal Haasan has expressed his interest in remaking the movie in Tamil with him playing the protagonist of a visually-challenged lift operator, who becomes a murder suspect.
When we contact director Priyadarshan to verify the news, he said, "Nothing has been confirmed yet." The filmmaker is currently on a high after his film Sila Samayangalil has made it to the top 10 of Golden Globes foreign film category.
