JAIPUR: Stay away from ribbon-cutting ceremonies which are jobs meant for the political leaders, chief minister Vasundhara Raje warned the officials of Dausa district on Tuesday.
While presiding over a meeting of the district and block-level officials in Dausa, Raje categorically said that it is for the elected representatives who should be laying foundation stones and presiding over inaugural ceremonies of developmental works.

"The role of elected representatives in government is crucial and the officers should respect them," warned Raje, who was in Dausa under the 'Aapka Zila, Aapki Sarkar' since Sunday.
This was followed by a set of directions to the officials. Having noticed that most of the officials lived in Jaipur and commuted to Dausa daily, she asked them to shift to Dausa. "Jaipur might be nearby but your duties are in Dausa and you are expected to be living here. The to and fro will not be tolerated," said Raje, directing the collector to ensure that officials do not leave the district headquarters without prior permission.
Taking stern action against laxity and irregularities in the implementation of the state government's flagship programmes, Raje ordered disciplinary action against 10 officials in Dausa. A day earlier on Monday, Raje had gone on an inspection of several places including a primary health centre (PHC) and an anganwadi. During her visit to the PHC, she had found the on-duty staff missing, following which she ordered the suspension of the medical officer there and APO for a doctor.
She ordered suspension of three, termination of one and APO for four employees in the women and child development department over supply of poorly nourished food at the anganwadi. She directed the district officials to use radio collars for tracking cows and ensure that they are not deserted on the roads by their owners. Having received a number of complaints regarding the irregularities in the BPL lists, she asked the officials to rectify them in the camps in rural areas.
