MUMBAI: Controversy related to Mumbai-based RPS Infra Projects Private Ltd has only gotten worse. Activists of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) stopped works at one of the two sites of the company alleging low quality of works on Tuesday.MNS workers led by city vice-president Prashant Pawar, president of women’s wing Manisha Papadkar and state general secretary Hemant Pawar stalled the works going on between Mahakalkar Hall and Bhende layout at Sakkardara in South Nagpur. The agitation only ended when the engineers of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) arrived at the site and assured necessary action.

Pawar said NMC issued work orders of two packages under cement concrete road-II project to RPS Infra. “NMC held back work orders of two more packages to RPS Infra after action was taken by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in road works scam. NMC should not issued work orders of two more packages and also terminate work orders of existing two packages immediately. RPS Infra is one of the six private companies involved in road scam in Mumbai. The company will also waste the time and money of NMC and citizens here,” he said.

BMC has banned any more contracts to RPS Infra and also registered an FIR against it at Azad Maidan police station. NMC had issued work orders of package VI and VIII worth Rs27.91 crore to RPS Infra.
Now, a committee has been constituted to decide the fate of two more packages-V worth Rs10.23 crore and VII of Rs14.74 crore to the company.

Congratulations!
