Gujarat Government makes couple of changes in CMO as it transfers 23 IAS officers

Retired IAS officer and Chief Principal Secretary to the CM, K Kailashnathan, who recently got his third extension, is the seniormost in the CMO. Principal Secretary to the CM, S Aparna, is the only bureaucrat from Anandiben Patel’s time, who will continue.

Among the officers transferred Tuesday include 1988-batch IAS officer Mukesh Puri, who was last month appointed as the vice-chairman and chief executive officer of Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) and ex officio Principal Secretary, Ports and Transport Department (Ports) by the Rupani government. The latest transfer order reappoints him as Principal Secretary, Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply & Kalpsar Department (Water Supply). This is a post that he was earlier holding before being moved to Ports in August. M S Dagur, ACS, Home Department, will hold the additional charge of ACS, Ports & Transport Department (Ports), while Bhadoo will be the new vice-chairman and the chief executive officer of GMB.

Among other important officials who have been transferred include, the municipal commissioners of Rajkot, Junagadh, Jamnagar and Surat. Milind Torwane, the Surat Municipal Commissioner, has been transferred as Secretary (Housing and Nirmal Gujarat), Urban Development & Urban Housing Department, in Gandhinagar. He will hold the additional charge of MD, Gujarat Urban Development Company Ltd, and the post of Additional Chief Executive Officer, Gujarat Urban Development Mission, in Gandhinagar. M Thennarasan, Commissioner of Women and Child Development, will be the new Surat Municipal Commissioner.

Rajkot Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra has been transferred as vice-chairman and MD, Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), Ahmedabad. Pankaj Kumar, who held the post of GSRTC MD, will now be Principal Secretary, Medical Services and Medical Education, Health and Family Welfare Department.

R B Barad, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, will now be the new Jamnagar Municipal Commissioner.
Harshadkumar R Patel, who held the post of Jamnagar Municipal Commissioner, has been transferred and placed at the disposal of General Administration Department for further orders.

Similarly, the municipal commissioner of Junagadh Municipal Corporation has been transferred and appointed as Commissioner of Tribal Development, Gandhinagar. V J Rajput, Chief General Manager, Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd, will be the new Junagadh Municipal Commissioner.

Pankaj Joshi, Principal Secretary, Higher and Technical Education, has been appointed as the MD, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd, Vadodara, relieving A M Tiwari of the additional charge of the post. Anju Sharma, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Cow Breeding, Fisheries and Cooperation, will replace Joshi.
