FAIZABAD: Howrah-bound train from
Dehradun Doon Express derailed near
Faizabad Junction on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred when the train was about to cross
Faizabad City station. Coaches S1, S2 and S3 and two general coaches slipped off the track. Eight people were reported to have received minor injuries.
The railways, however, denied any injury or casualty caused due to the derailment.

Lahoti reached Faizabad in the evening to take stock of the situation.
According to railway sources, an inquiry has been ordered into the accident.
As a result of the derailment, routes of about half a dozen trains have been diverted. Movement on the
Faizabad-Lucknow-Varanasi route has been disrupted.
Railways has set up helplines at Varanasi, Faizabad and Lucknow stations.
