Governor meets wushu medallists

SRINAGAR: Rajinder Singh and Surya Bhanu Partap Singh Chib who won medals at the International Wushu Championship; accompanied by Kuldeep Handoo, chief coach of India (wushu), were received by Governor NN Vohra at the Raj Bhawan here today.

Rajinder Singh and Surya Bhanu Partap Singh Chib who won medals at the International Wushu Championship; accompanied by Kuldeep Handoo, chief coach of India (wushu), were received by Governor NN Vohra at the Raj Bhawan here today.

An official statement said Handoo briefed the Governor about the status of wushu in the state, the standard of existing training facilities and high potential of making J&K a front runner in wushu if sportsmen and women were provided support.

The Governor congratulated Singh and Chib for medals won by them.
