2 hemp smugglers held in MP with 810 kg contraband

Seoni, MP, Sep 20 (UNI) Two inter-state hemp smugglers were arrested and 810 kg contraband worth Rs 70 lakh were seized from their possession near a wayside eatery in Lakhnadaun police station limits on a stretch of a National Highway, police said here today.
The ganja was being transported on a truck from Odisha’s Koraput to Haryana’s Sonipat late last night. The marijuana was kept in 40 sacks by making a partition in the truck’s cabin.
Police arrested the accused Sunil Chamar (25) and Kishan Chamar (52) and the truck was sized. However, truck driver Bhim Singh Chamar managed to flee taking the advantage of darkness. The three smugglers are the residents of Sonipat District’s Badoli, police added.
